MedSpace Surgical Monitor-Cockpit

Assistance system for precision and safety

Optimised ergonomics for the surgical workplace

The Surgical Cockpit has been developed as assistance system for the areas ENT and neurology. The surgeon can select OR-views plus any other required information from three different video or optical sources, like in a plane cockpit.

For the surgeon, this not only means optimised ergonomics but also the best in technical support. Intra-operative instrument navigation and imaging allow for high precision and speed during surgery as well as avoidance of errors, offering a high degree of safety and protection for the patient.

The system with its ergonomic design in the shape of a plane cockpit also features superb, seamless manufacture, in line with the high standards of hygiene in demand for operating theatres.

Technical Information

The surgical cockpit consists of a housing with three integrated 42” monitors, which are covered at the front by glass panels. It has been designed for installation with a ceiling-mounted supply unit. To save weight and equally increase tensile strength, the housing is made of carbon fibre. The housing is fixed with clamps on tubular bars and to an existing ceiling-mounted supply unit. Each monitor is fronted by an ESG safety glass panel.

The glass panels are being held by magnets. Thus, they can be tilted, making the surgical cockpit easyly accessible for local technicians and maintenance work.
