Room Control

Room Control for Operating Theatres, Intensive Care Units                   and  Recovery Rooms

Satisfies the highest demands on hygiene:
Room control for operating theatres via touch panel

The pleasant aspect of digitalisation is becoming increasingly important in operating theatres. In the operating theatre, there is growing emphasis on efficiency and the perfect timing. Therefore, an operating theatre with no central room control is inconceivable.

But what does Touch Panel stand for, and what is it supposed to do?

A Touch Panel is a wall-integrated monitor, controlled by means of a touchscreen display,

and easy enough to handle for near intuitive operation. Furthermore, the Touch Panel is at the centre of the room control for the operating theatre.  The goal is to control every function of an operating theatre centrally – including parts of the medical technology, thus reducing the number of different wall mounted remote control points to a miminum.

A unique feature of our room control is that an original photography or visualisation of the operating theatre (also retrofitted) can be integrated. The units shown on the display are activated and controlled by means of tapping on their control fields.

Usually, the Touch Panel is located at the nurse workstation, but of course alternative locations may be used too – perfectly adjusted to the requirements of the operating theatre and the needs of the medical personnel.  During the preparatory phase, the predefined settings are selectable directly from the nurse workstation, facilitating the processes in the operating theatre.

In order to support the work flow even more, we offer a freely programmable and fully flexible room control. It features variable interfaces, allowing users to incorporate their own programming language. Integration into a building control system and remote maintenance option are available. Technically necessary ports are housed in a control cabinet, located in the plant room of the operating theatre.

The spatial separation ensures continual operability, allowing for maintenace work on the room control system even during operations. Thanks to the flexibility of the layout for the user surface, the wishes of the customer can be accommodated. Thus, every Touch Panel is unique.

The high-quality manufacturing permits the Touch Panel to be treated with any of the standard desinfecting and cleaning agents used in hospitals. The Touch Panel can be used in a variety of applications thanks to its standard functions – control, adjust, monitor – (see table).  Also, it displays text messages, e.g. alarms or warnings, signalled by display and by sound. Therefore, the Touch Panel is a cutting edge, modern and indispensable milestone in the simplification of work processes and the central management of room control functions.
